Welcome Letter to Parents

Dear Parents,

Learning a world language is every child’s passport to living, competing, and participating in a global society. This is why Middlebury Interactive Languages, a joint venture between Middlebury College and K12, Inc., has partnered with top private schools to offer summer language immersion academies for middle school students.

Located on beautiful private school campuses, the Summer Day Academies offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to acquire authentic world language skills and knowledge. Drawing upon Middlebury’s immersion pedagogy, the gold standard in world language education, the Day Academies are specifically designed for middle school students. Throughout each two-week session, students learn language and culture by participating in carefully-designed interactive activities and hands-on projects.

If your daughter or son is a rising 5th through rising 8th grader, the middle school Academy offers them the opportunity to strengthen their self-confidence in language and to explore the richness and diversity of another culture.

I encourage you to take a moment and consider what a Summer Day Academy might mean for your child’s education and future. In addition to the Day Academies, we also offer the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy, a four-week residential full-immersion summer language program for students in grades 8-12 at prestigious college campuses across the country.

If you are interested in a residential academy on a college campus, please visit our website mmla.middlebury.edu or call 888-216-0135 to learn more about the exciting opportunities that await your son or daughter this summer.
