The colorful last weekend kicked off Friday night with the most anticipated event of the program: la expo! The theme of que guay continued as the Spanish academy opened the festivities with a padrísimo dance routine of bachata y salsa, a cheverísimo performance of “Oye como va” with guitars, clarinets, voice and Caribbean percussion, three barbaras pieces of clasical music by talented violinists and flautists, a goofia’o, tongue-twisting Spanish rap, and a bacanísimo magic show. As a finale, los españoles took to the stage to dance the famous party hit, Danza Kuduro.
During la expo students had the oportunity to share the results of their work in the electives and classes. They also enjoyed the chance to acknowledge the work of the other academies and experience the other cultural offerings. Together all the performers made this cornerstone event a huge success, where languages barriers mattered little in light of the great fun and cultural exchange. Todo muy guay!
