Marty Wintje has taught with the Academy since its first summer, and is the 2014 French Language Director at the Academy’s Green Mountain College campus. Marty spent part of his youth in France. He attended the Sorbonne and received a degree in French Language and a degree in French Civilization. Marty received a BS from SUNY at Oswego and taught at Spaulding High School in Rochester NH for 31 years, where he was the International Language Department Chair. During his career, Marty led 13 student trips to Europe. He also studied Spanish at Middlebury College during the summer. Marty retired in 2009 but has recently returned to the classroom to teach French to Kindergarten through 4th grade students. 2012 was Marty’s fifth year with MMLA.
