The Academy exists today because of the curriculum created at Middlebury College – a famed academic institution with nearly a century of providing summer language immersion programs for adults, diplomats, artists and singers all over the world. Now this heritage is available to students entering 8th through 12th grade using the incomparable Middlebury Immersion Learning Pedagogy. All students are welcome - from true beginners to experienced language learners.

The Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy (MMLA) was originally established by Middlebury College and its affiliate the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Today, MMLA is directed by Middlebury Interactive Languages.

Young adults from all over the world attend Middlebury College for the express purpose of studying language. Today, our Academy attracts this kind of interest for exactly the same reason. It’s a place where you become “one” with a culture and the language of that culture as a result.
